Save frequently-entered text for pasting later

Clippings is a handy Firefox or Thunderbird extension that helps you manage and save certain keywords and texts, that you can later use to insert them directly rather than rewriting them.

The application enables you to create a database of “clippings”, which consist of various words or texts saved under a descriptive name. The clippings can then be used quickly by selecting them with the mouse instead of retyping them.

Additionally, you can create folders to categorize your clippings, depending on the context that you use them. For instance, you can create a folder for scientific and long texts, one for mathematical expressions and so on.

Clippings allows you to bind shortcut keys to certain saved words or text blocks, for faster accessibility. You just need to select the key you want to use, and the application will create the keyboard combination that you can use to instantly paste a clipping.

Besides the custom key binding, Clippings features a predefined key combination, such as F1 for Clippings Manager or F2 for Undo Undo.

In case the application crashes, you can load one of the backup files that are automatically created. You can set the number of backups that can be created.
